Description
Ecovyst is on the hunt for a Logistics Planner based at our Kansas City, KS location.
Job Summary
As part of the supply chain team, your role is to ensure scheduling of different modes of transportation, timely delivery, preparing shipping documents as well as monitoring inbound shipments and providing updates on changes in estimated delivery time.
Maintain accurate inventory at our external warehouse facilities through goods receipts, goods issues, and internal movement in SAP, as well as performing quarterly inventory checks.
Investigate, resolve and document freight related customer complaints.
Solve any customs related holds through our brokers.
Responsibilities:
- Assists/leads projects as needed.
- Align shipment schedule with customers and drivers.
- Schedule trucking and container pickups for domestic/international shipments
- Maintain customer data (delivery specifications and restrictions)
- Shares the task of greeting visitors/drivers at the window.
- Shares the task of answering incoming calls.
- Resolve customer feedback (freight complaints and questions)
- Reconcile freight bill differences / sends payments through A/P
- Invoice verification process for inbound (STO’s) and outbound
- Maintains and updates shipping schedule as needed.
- Ensures proper shipment documentation accompanies shipment (B/L, MSDS, COA, etc…)
- Monitor inbound shipments (STO’s) and update any changed in ETD.
- Schedule delivery and pickup appointments with external warehouses
- Perform internal movements in SAP (goods receipt, goods issue, and transfers)
- Create hazardous shipping declarations.
- Perform quarterly inventory checks and support year-end inventory for external warehouses.
- Address any issues related to customs hold and consult with broker for solutions.
- Participates in plant wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives.
Requirements:
Education
- Minimum of a High School Diploma required.
- Preferred College Degree in related coursework field
Experience
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in an international environment
Skills and Knowledge

- Hazmat certified or willing to learn and get certified.
