<strong>This role in summary </strong>
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manager, Supply & Logistics located at our facility in Fall River, MA. This role will be onsite.
In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership of your assigned organization to support continuous improvement with the development of people and of our future state, through project management, improved material flow, and implementation of lean principles and technology.
You will be the leader of the Materials Engineering function, as well as numerous hourly material handling associates, and supporting the Whirlpool Production System (WPS). You will be accountable for lean activities through involvement in event planning and the execution of activities defined in that process. You will develop and mentor a high-performance organization that strives for high levels of quality and service, champion World Class Manufacturing (WCM) through daily coaching in WCM tools and methodologies, prioritize and organizes short term and long term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives, identify and address opportunities for improvement relative to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics and personnel development.
This job function manages the material flow (Route Planning, and Plan for Every Part), technology integration into the material handling and storage processes, and management of equipment.
<strong>Your responsibilities will include</strong>
• Continuous Improvement and Development of People through Project Management of Lean Principles & Technology
• Core responsibility for adhering to Delivery to Commit % (schedule adherence), Order Fill, WIP Scheduling, Engineering Change Tracking, and all Service Operations (All 3PL)
• Responsible for oversight of all material planning and execution for the operations, both internal and external operations
• Act as Liaison between Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Technology and Demand Planning
• Adherence to policies and procedures of Inventory Management (internal and external controls)
• Lead the manufacturing production schedule with corporate planning and develop optimal operational plans that incorporate manufacturing constraints
• Lead weekly meetings with product fulfillment team to review forecast data
• Accountable to enforce and manage commercial relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient flow of parts into the operation
• Work with manufacturing leadership and cross functional teams to optimize total cost and to maintain inventory targets that support our ability to deliver the promise to our customers
• Mentor, lead, and develop the plant’s materials organization
• Report to material and manufacturing leadership on production status and identify countermeasures
• Implementation of Whirlpool Production System (WPS) / World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Methodology and Application
• Serve as a point of contact for cross-functional partners – both internal to Whirlpool and external
• Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts through involvement in the strategic materials management planning process and the execution of activities defined in that process
• Prioritizes and organize short term and long term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives
• Ensure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards/methods
• Live the Whirlpool Leadership Model and drive it within your team
• Addresses opportunities for improvement relative to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics and talent development
<strong>Minimum requirements</strong>
• Bachelor\’s Degree
• 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Operations
• 2+ years leadership experience in a Supply Chain Business, Engineering, or Operations
<strong>Preferred skills and experiences</strong>
• Bachelor\’s degree required; Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or Engineering
• Experience with MS Office, CAD, Google Applications and SAP
• Lean principles and methodologies with a proven track record in driving continuous improvement via lean tools
• Grow individual and organization competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
• Communication, interpersonal, facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrate and guide networks toward the strategy and vision required to uphold customer-centered excellence
• Understanding of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) & Lean methodology and application
• Drive continuous improvement via lean tools
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP systems
• Repeated success in a \”teaming\” environment
