General Purpose:
Responsible & accountable for the development, management, evaluation of and improvement of the entire demand management framework.  Recommends and validates Demand Management / Planning goals & strategies to senior management.  Determines forecasting approaches, tool utilization, synchronization processes, contingency plans, and metrics.  Leads & evaluates demand planners.  Leads S&OP processes on monthly & weekly basis. Ensures viable & continuous improvement in DM capabilities.

Lead and facilitate with clear communication and with a holistic understanding of the business the forecast collaboration and synchronization of processes (development of demand plans from Annual Business Plan through Rolling Estimate to Operational ensuring alignment) across all levels of the organization (from Analysts, Managers, Directors, Executive Leadership Team to the CEO) in the PIVO/S&OP processes as well as preparatory meetings. Forecasting Demand: Manage daily, weekly, and monthly routines to ensure processes are followed and are delivering desired results.   Work with sales partners to ensure key market activities (promos and initiatives) that influence the forecast are communicated in a timely manner. Must initiate, lead, and maintain ongoing fierce and transparent conversations with Commercial and Pricing Performance Managers concerning projected sales increase due to ad and holiday activity requiring solid reasoning for their expectations and recommendations of forecast adjustments.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of the Operational and PIVO forecasts (weekly, monthly, and full year picture) of over 470 million cases per year across 39 Sales Offices, 800 SKUs, and 80 chains to predict properly the income (3.5 B USD), that is more than 2M of Demand Forecasting Units.
  • Manage content creation for, as well as facilitation of, PIVO meetings to include Portfolio Management Review, Demand Review, Supply Review, and Executive Review, which affect Raw Material, Production, Transportation, Warehouse, Purchased Products, and Labor plans.
  • Ensures effective & efficient tools are in place to support business strategy supported by IT infrastructure and personnel capabilities.  Examples include collaborating with CRAFT (forecasting and revenue), Llamasoft (production Capacity), Blue Yonder (Forecasting, Supply Planning and S&OP), SAP (ERP), CONA (Coke One North America), and other consulting developers, on the technical side, as well as Sales Center Managers (SCM), Area Directors (AD), Key Account Directors (KAD) and Pricing and Revenue Growth Management (PRGM) on the business side to assist in the building of applications which meet all necessary business requirements.
  • Recommend & establish the demand management framework of goals & strategies for the company.  Ensures understanding throughout the organization via continuous education of field personnel and continuously evaluates pertinent KPIs and IPOs. Strong analytical aptitude needed to connect the relationship of the different parts of the business to drive fact base decision making (Commercial, Sales, Marketing, PRGM, Supply, and Finance). A sampling of tools in use includes Forecast Accuracy + Cut Cases + Days of Supply (FACD) Report, PIVO Forecast Accuracy, Trend Report, Forecast Exception Reporting, PIVO Forecast Review/Tracker Report.
  • Ensures collaborative processes are in place with all key stakeholders and contributors that effectively deliver desired Demand Management goals via oversight, track, rank, and publishing to identify opportunities and facilitate actions with the goal of managing multiple teams.
  • Ensures contingency planning procedures in place in collaboration with Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM), Supply Planning, and Commercial which are responsive and effective to handle SKU level issues of product availability.
  • Develop knowledge of elements that make up the supply chain and the interrelationship between these elements. Exposure to other Supply Chain disciplines (Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse, and Distribution).
  • Grows demand planning skills within the organization (MU Training, SCM individual training, new hires, PRGM forecast analysts) and advocates for the planning organization.  Ensures demand planners are challenged & succeeding.
  • Cross functional routines and projects:  As required may lead cross functional routines such as S&OP (coordinate the efforts of 9 Area Directors, 28 Sales Center Managers, 5 Key Account Directors, 4 Brand Directors, 5 Supply Managers, 2 IT Solution Architect) SKU rationalization, product launch (>100 SKUs every year), or special projects and initiatives for CCSWB (15 every year).
  • Customer Focus: Making customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships; to ensure the forecast results are meeting their needs.  Driving continuous improvement in accuracy on the items that are critical to supply chain and the sales team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 2 – 5 years of experience Demand Planning/ Forecasting/Supply Planning
  • 3 years as a manager for Supply/demand or logistical role
