Description

In this role, you will execute the activities necessary to create a reliable and cost effective supply chain for the Integrated Motor Drive (IMD) product group in Motion, NEMA Motors in Greenville, South Carolina. This role will be critical for developing, executing, and growing the supply chain strategy as well as optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers. This person will work closely with the entire IMD organization including management, engineering, product management, and business development servicing the global market.

Product Group Manager

Your responsibilities:

  • Sourcing strategy: Manage the supply chain process and ensures components flow by directing resolutions and responding to escalations of daily issues. Execute various aspects of procurement including supplier development, quoting, negotiating, sub-contracting, order processing and resolving order issues. Develop future forecasts to assure reliable supply chain performance
  • Negotiation: Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions. Exercises a key role in accomplishing customer service and inventory objectives through effective inventory management/materials planning. Identifies cost savings opportunities and coordinates with all responsible functions to achieve the desired cost results. Identify areas of risk with the supply chain and implement appropriate mitigation measures
  • Supplier agreements: Oversee performance management (cost, reliability and quality) of suppliers. Provide regular performance feedback to suppliers and drive corrective actions as required. Expedites when required, material deliveries to meet special operational requirements such as push-ins or special customer requirements
  • Business continuity: Applies and implements standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned product group. Works with existing suppliers and participates in the development of new supplier relationships. Grows knowledge of industry trends related to IMD and tracks market conditions and future forecasts of main commodities

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience or Masters Degree and minimum of 6 years experience. Degree in business or supply chain management is highly desired
  • Strong team building skills and ability to work independently to achieve goals. Independently driven problem-solver, with a desire to address complex challenges
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • Should be ok to travel as per businesses needs estimated 25%
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
